He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Gallagher and Anna Gallagher; his siblings, Anne, Ed, Mary, Frank, Tom, Jim, Henry, Dan, Arthur and John; and his sons, Peter and Michael.
He is survived by: his children, Ed (Lori), John (late Rita), Bill (Sharon), Joe (Julie) and Marie (Terence); his wife Mary; and also Jim Wogan. He is also survived by his family and is survived by five children, 11 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one expectant great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
His significant contributions to sports media led to his induction into the Manhattan College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017.
