It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jacqueline V. Handshew of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, who passed away on March 16, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Jacqueline departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Jacqueline may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Jacqueline leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Callio and Edna Callio (Steigleman); her husband Harold Richard Handshew; and her siblings, William Callio and Nanalee Picou.
She is survived by: her children, Glenda Stough (Garry) of Mt. Holly Springs, Jamy Handshew (Pamela) of Newville and Richard Handshew of Carlisle. She is also survived by four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home (630 S Hanover St, Carlisle, PA 17013). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chapel Pointe Benevolent Fund, 770 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, PA 17013.
