He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Philip and Esther Ellen Miller Shughart; his former wife Mary L. Baninger "Bannie" Shughart; his son Rodger L. Shughart; and his siblings, Kathleen Rynard, Genevieve Hoover, Creedin Shughart, Levern Shughart and Neil Shughart.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Chronister Rhoads-Shughart; his children, Charles E. Shughart (Victoria), Linda L. Miller (Jim) and Russell L. Shughart (Betty); his stepchildren, Richard E. Rhoads (Debra), Robert L. Rhoads (Donna), Bette J. Newcomer (John) and Kelly L. Lombardo (Barry Jr.); and his sister Mary E. Shughart Gensler (Richard). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
