He was predeceased by: his brothers, John and Henry. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Blacksmith of Carlisle; his daughter Katie Adams; his son-in-law Ben Adams; his grandchildren, Jane of Stamford, UK and Wesley of Stamford, UK; his brothers, Dr. Gary Blacksmith Jr. (Eldora) of Carlisle and Jack Blair of Sequim, WA; his nephews, Gary Blacksmith (Carole) of Carlisle and William Blacksmith (Stephanie) of Cornwall, NY; and his niece Rebecca Neumann of Carlisle.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cancer Support Community South Bay.
