He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence B. Harder and Rosella M. Harder (Miller); his wife Mary R. Harder (Cornman); and his siblings, Ernest "Whitey" Harder and Vivian Garrott.

He is survived by: his sisters, Clea Shadle of Harrisburg, Julia Harder of Carlisle and Juliana Walters of Carlisle. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
