He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul E. Smith and Mary M. Smith (Rowles); his brother Curtis E. Smith; and his son Joshua D. Smith. He is survived by: his children, Joel A. Smith (Meagan M. Trayer) and Curvey E. Sampson; his daughter-in-law Jacqueline J. Smith (Packer); his stepchildren, Kaitlin N. Deimler and Dillon M. Deimler; and his siblings, Deborah Rouner (late David Rouner), Lorraine Davis (Donald Davis Jr.), Kathy Smith, Tina Sheaffer (Willian Sheaffer), Jeffrey Smith and Teresa Laughman (Harry Laughman). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 30 nieces and nephews, 25 great-nieces and nephews, and 8 great-great-nieces and nephews.
