He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Mateer and Thelma P. Mateer (Steigleman); his brother Dennis Mateer; his half-brothers, Harold Day, Lynn Mateer, John Mateer and Dale Mateer; and his son-in-law David Keebaugh.
He is survived by: his wife Alice V. Mateer (Torrence); his daughters, Sharon Keebaugh of Newville and Denise Bowermaster of Carlisle; his half-siblings, Harry (Joanne Day) of Trinity, George (Darlis Mateer) of New Cumberland, Keith (Pamela) of Etters, Debora (Jack) of Newport News, Bernadette Mateer of Etters and Pamela Mateer of New Cumberland; his grandchildren, Shawn (Michaele Keebaugh) of Newville, Eric (Kristina Keebaugh) of Newville and Nicole (Danny Rouner) of Newville; and his great grandchildren, Cameron Keebaugh, Jeremiah, Christian Boullianne, Zoe and Eli Keebaugh.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Parkinson's Research.
