He was predeceased by: his wife Catherine Surace; his parents, James Williamson and Tillie Lewis Williamson; and his brother Lewis. He is survived by: his children, Brenda Matechak (Daniel Jr.) and Gary McDonough (Anita); his siblings, David Williamson (Genie) and Janice Wilson (Robert); his sister-in-law Maureen Williamson; his grandchildren, Daniel Matechak III (Annie), James Matechak (Lauren), Brittany Matechak (Mike Osif), Gary McDonough Jr. (Lauren) and Angelica Borosky (Matt); and his great grandchildren, Hailey, Miley Matechak, Daniel Matechak IV, Cameron McDonough, Riley Brennan, Isla McDonough, Kierra, Aubrey and Brenna Borosky. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
