He was predeceased by: his parents, Norm Riffe and Edna Kennedy; and his stepson James P. Sposito. He is survived by: his children, Lynn Gerke (Mark) of Menomonee Falls, WI, Greg Riffe (Beth) of Coopersville, MI, Jeff Riffe (Kris) of Troy, MI and Tracy Hofmann of Fort Wayne, IN; his grandchildren, Nicole Sposito-Pittack (Danny), Caleb, Blake, Connor, Max, Mitchell, Rebecca, Alec, Andrew, Charlotte, Nathan and Benjamin; his daughter-in-law Tina Brier of Peckville, PA; and his brother Daniel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale, was a counselor and board member of the Hugh O'Brien Youth Foundation and a 20-year member of the Carbondale Civil Service Commission.
