He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleon Matthews and Vivien Matthews (McNett); and his sister-in-law Wanda Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Gordy; his children, Ashleigh Matthews (Daniel Ford), Thomas Matthews, Whitney Matthews (Dylan Pepper) and Travis Matthews; his granddaughters, Isabella Opdyke and Avery Collins Ford; and his siblings, Larry Matthews (Yoeum) of Coquille, Elaine Ritchie of Absecon and Maxine Tarbox of Cogan Station.
