He was predeceased by: his parents, Merrill Ayers and Florence Ayers (Watson); his former wife Phyllis Ayers; his siblings, Robert and Pearl; his siblings-in-law, Wilber Barrett, Floyd Bennett, Harold Long, Donna Long, Sharon Tedesco and Rose Ayers; his brothers, Floyd Bennett and Lawrence Ayers; and his niece Debbie Doan.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis "Phil" Barrett; and his children, Michael Ayers (Kathleen), Kathy McClelland of Mansfield and Janis Wood (Mark). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews cousins, friends.
