It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George J Velisaris of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 31, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Velisaris and Eleni Haritos Velisaris; his daughter Elaine Mannina; and his siblings, Peter, Kosta and Stamata Zeppos.
He is survived by: his wife Stella "Beba" Pankas Velisaris; his daughters, Becky Loutsion (George) of Canonsburg and Georgeann Collins (Matt) of Canonsburg; his brothers, Art Velisaris (Tina) of Pittsburgh and Perry Velisaris (Tulla) of Pittsburgh; and his grandchildren, Zachary Loutsion, Alexander Loutsion, Stellanie Loutsion, George Collins, Sophia Collins, Troy Collins, Jacqueline Mannina and Gianna Mannina. He is also survived by several nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church (601 W McMurray Rd, Canonsburg, PA 15317). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, in George's name.
