He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sekel and Mary Pecuch Sekel; his wife Theona Sekel; and his siblings, John, Mike Sekel and Anna Hudak.
He is survived by: his sister Mary Zinchiak of Erie; his children, Constance Sovisky (Randy) of Cambridge Springs and Jim Sekel (Barb) of Nazareth, PA; and his grandchildren, Thomas Sovisky (Amanda), Lauren Sovisky, Jacob Sekel (Ashley) and Kylie Lerch (Nick). He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Van Matre Funeral Home (335 Venango Ave, Cambridge Springs, PA 16403). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Sts. Peter and Paul's Orthodox Church (25636 N Mosiertown Rd, Edinboro, PA 16412).
