He was predeceased by: his father Timothy E. Sheehan. He is survived by: his mother Joyce Sheehan (Shaynak); his wife Kim Sheehan (Cover); his children, Timothy John Sheehan II (Samantha Schwalb), Brendan Sheehan (Jessie Conte) and Erin Sheehan; his parents-in-law, Mary Ann and Dennis Cover; his sister-in-law Karen Seaton (Barney); his niece Delaney; and his brothers-in-law, Danny Cover (Amy) and Eric Hanula.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Western Pennsylvania Police Benevolent Foundation.
