He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Walter, Pauline Gates, Newton and Katherine Shimp. He is survived by: his parents, Earl Gates and Gwen Gates of Waynesboro; his sisters, MaryBeth Gates Herrera Hagerstown (Eric) and Rebecca Allison (Darren) of Waynesboro; and his nieces and nephews, Rachel Morgan, Rivka Herrera, Hannah Lee, Benjamin Shimp, Benjamin Herrera, Jacob Herrera and Brenton Allison. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins.
Memorial contributions may be made to any Human Services organization or Children's Hospital.
