It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George T. Matty (California, Pennsylvania), who passed away on March 27, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George J. Matty and Mary Matty (Tyhonas); his nephew Steve Matty, Jr.; and his great-nephew Kyle Niccolai. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Matty; his son Craig Matty; his daughter-in-law Victoria Matty; his stepson John Danko; his stepdaughter-in-law Brandi; his siblings, Joan Niccolai, Georgette Sapko (George) and Steve Matty; his sister-in-law Deanna Dawn Matty; and his granddaughters, Jasmine Danko (Noah), MaKayla Dawn Danko and Makayla Rose Smith (Tyler). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and many friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc. (323 4th St, California, PA 15419). A prayer was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Historic Church of St. Peter (118 Church St, Brownsville, PA 15417). A burial was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
