Elmyra Frances De Simone Obituary
Elmyra was born in 1933 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to parents, Albert and Frances Di Giuseppe. Beloved sister of Aurora (Audrey) Tursi, (Pasquale, deceased) and Anthony Di Giuseppe (Rose). Elmyra was a devoted wife and mother and volunteered at her children's elementary school, St. Monica's School in Philadelphia.
After moving to Devon, Pennsylvania, she worked for the T/E School District for over 20 years, serving as an Administrative Assistant in the Human Resources Department. She volunteered at St. Jude's Thrift Shop for many years until its closing. Elmyra enjoyed spending time with her family.
While small in stature, she had a big personality, a huge heart, and an infectious laugh. She made everyone feel special. Elmyra was preceded in death by her husbands, Arnold Minicozzi, and Thomas De Simone.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Albert De Joseph, and her sister, Frances Jacovelli. Elmyra is survived by her children Mark Minicozzi (Mary) and Carol Hummel. She was a devoted grandmother to Mark Arnold Minicozzi (Andrea), Melissa Gable (William), Jennifer Turner (Andrew), Matthew Hummel (Kristin), Kristin Byck (David) and great-grandchildren Marissa Turner, Maximus Minicozzi, Alessia Gable, and Juliana Turner.
Family and friends are invited to Elmyra's Life Celebration on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at St. Isaac Jogues, Parish Hall, 50 W. Walker Road, Wayne, Pennsylvania. A visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-3678.
