With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of JoAnn McElhaney of Butler, Pennsylvania, born in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 26, 2024 at the age of 92. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mont R. McCoy and Anna Marie McCoy (Shay); her husband Regis McElhaney; her siblings, Beverly Joyce McCoy, Jean Harshbarger, Grace Platt, Ruth Rowe, Sarah "Becky", Scarbro, Beatrice "Betty" Brodmerkel, Dolores Searight and Donald M. McCoy; and her son-in-law Daniel Blair.
She is survived by: her children, Randall A. McElhaney (Lynn McElhaney) of Virginia Beach, VA, Douglas D. McElhaney (Diane) of Butler, PA, Barbara A. Stopenski (Stanley) of The Villages, FL. and Cynthia K. Blair; her grandchildren, Katie Thayer (Jonathan) of Ashland, VA, Laura C. McElhaney of Virginia Beach, VA, Shannon Harrison (Brandon) of Toledo, OH, Rebecca Stopenski (Alex Porro) of Wilmington, DE and Stephen Stopenski (Judy Doong) of San Diego, CA; her great grandchildren, Wesley Harrison and Juliette Porro; her brother R. John McCoy of Aliquippa, PA; and her sister-in-law Fern McCoy (Starr) of Spencer, WV. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
