He was predeceased by: his father Herbert M. Shearer; and his granddaughter Mackenzie Renee Shearer. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Jo "Becky" Shearer (Steighner); his sons, James K. Shearer, Christopher J. Shearer (Melissa) and Donald L. Shearer; his grandsons, Kyle Shearer, Cole Shearer and Chase Shearer; his mother Olive "Judy" Shearer; his sisters, Bonnie Jean Vensel, Sue Ellen Pelles (Robert) and Lori Ann Schaffner; and his cousins, Dick Shearer and Tom Shearer.
