She was predeceased by : her parent Earl Charles. She is survived by : her parent Grace Irene Pyle Petrucci; her husband William George Gilbert; her children, William L. Gilbert of Maryland, Barbara Lynn Basile of Burgettstown, Mary Grace Stutzman of Washington and Christine Ann Gilbert (Michael Herdman) of Burgettstown; her brother Earl R. Petrucci (Georgiana) of Cherry Valley; her grandchildren, Brian, Alex, Andi, Erika Gilbert (Dan Stadnik), Timothy Basile (Stephanie Myers), Tylir Gilbert and Cooper Herdman; her great grandchildren, Jazmine, Jaidan, Jaelynn Gilbert and Giana Basile; her nieces, Michelle Petrucci and Lori Crooks; and her grandson Jordan Basile.

After graduating from Union High School in 1956, she also graduated from Washington Hospital School of Nursing, where she became a licensed practical nurse and worked in patient's homes and Alzheimer's facilities.
