With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Gene (Hertrick) Schuler of Bulger, Pennsylvania, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 19, 2023 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Hertrick and Loretta Hertrick (Diggins); her husband Joseph C. Schuler; and her brothers, Harold Gilbert Hertrick and Lawrence Richard Hertrick.
She is survived by: her children, Joseph F. Schuler, Jeannine L. Schuler, Laura J. Schuler (Jon Heilman), Susan A. Dugas and Amy J. Schuler-Shaw (Ed); her grandchildren, Joseph Thomas (Jeannine), David (Mandy), Dennis McCracken, Leigh Anne McGivern (Phil), Sarah Serafini, MD (Mario), Boyd Barker III (Fiona), Matthew Dugas (Kate), Mallory Kairys (Tyler), Sally Lonchar (Justin) and Max Shaw; and her great grandchildren, David, Julianna, Shannon, Maggie McGivern, Lucano, Camilo Serafini, Bodhi Barker IV, James, John (Jack), Genevieve Dugas, Kennedy and Kason Lonchar. She is also survived by in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, Val requested friends and family perform a good deed in her honor to keep her loving and caring spirit alive.
