He was predeceased by: his wife Emiko "Amy"; and his son Michael R. Garzarelli. He is survived by: his daughter Diana M. Carpenter; his grandchildren, Kelly, Christopher and Catherine Carpenter; and his brother Eugene "Gene" Garzarelli.
