He was predeceased by: his parents, John Everett and Betty Jane Coon (Yoder). He is survived by: his sons, Andrew C. Elder (Morgan Larson) and Shane D. Coon (Elizabeth); and his siblings, Mary Slaughenhaupt, Brenda Buzard, Frank Coon and Robert Coon. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
