He was predeceased by: his parents, William T. MacNair and Velma MacNair; his former wife Gertrude W. McNair (Tremel); and his sister Rosetta. He is survived by: his wife Dale McNair (Atkins) of Brodheadsville, PA; his children, Jeanette Colyer (Warren) of West Columbia, SC, Shirley McNair of York, SC, Evelyn Higgins (Matthew) of Kunkletown, PA, William T. McNair of Oklahoma and Robert McNair (Melissa) of Albany, NY; his stepdaughters, Laura Hess (Jim) of Bridgewater, NJ, Karen Delauro (Darryl) of Bridgewater, NJ and Amy Cardinal of Branchburg, NJ.; and his brother Covington MacNair of The Villages, FL.. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren, a niece and a nephew.
