He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl I Ackerman and Jeanne Ackerman (Lindenburg); and his brother Earl. He is survived by: his wife Vena Ackerman (Arnt) of Brodheadsville, PA; his children, Gommert Jr., Dawn, Steven, Toni Ann and Angel; his grandchildren, Gommert III and Eva; and his sister Sharon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
