He was predeceased by: his parents, William Counterman and Elsie Counterman (LaBar); his son Harold Counterman; and his siblings, Clarence Counterman, Paul Counterman, Janet Crawn, Viola McCammon, Sally Moyer and Marty Counterman.
He is survived by: his children, Theresa Counterman of California, Phillip Counterman of East Stroudsburg, Terry Counterman of California, Reginald Counterman of California and Carl Counterman, Jr. of North Carolina; and his pet Roscco. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association.
