He was predeceased by: his parents, Ward Gardner and Patricia Murphy Gardner; and his grandson DJ Gardner. He is survived by: his children, Dawn Major (Doug) of Port Allegany, PA, Denise Logan (David) of Reynoldsville, David Gardner (Lisa) of Kersey, PA and Daniel Gardner (Susie) of DuBois; and his grandchildren, Nicole Terwilliger, Derek Terwilliger, Kristen Terwilliger, David Logan, Alexandria Gardner, Kayla Gardner and Dana Gardner. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
