Virginia Warren Obituary
Virginia Lee B. (Brungess) Warren, 87, of Broad Top City, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the York Hospital.
Born in Dallas, PA. on August 15, 1933, a daughter of the late Walter Hiram and Mary Francis (Brown) Brungess.
She was united in marriage to Francis R. Warren for 44 years. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1998.
She was a 1951 graduate of Dallas High School where she was on the basketball team and was a band majorette. She later earned her B.S. in physical education from East Stroudsburg University in 1973. For 10 years she was a physical education instructor for the Whitehaven Intermediate Unit and then served as a substitute teacher in the Lancaster Area.
As a proud mother of Veterans, she was a member of the U.S. Military Mothers & Friends Inc., she also enjoyed attending gatherings with the retired teachers group. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends from the Immaculate Conception Church where she became a member following her husbands death.
Surviving are 4 sons, Francis Richard Warren Jr. of Lewisburg, Walter William Warren of Lewisburg, William James Warren of Wrightstown, NJ, and David Alan Warren of Broad Top City, a daughter Lynn Ann, wife of William McFadden of Stevens, PA., 6 grandchildren, Ryan, Tara, William, Chad, Matthew, and Cody, 8 great grandchildren, Maggie, Laylana, Lyric, William, Everich, Iyla, Nora, and Olivia.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Malcolm.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 2 PM with Pastor Jeff Musser officiating at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Broad Top City.
All those in attendance will be required to follow the guidelines set forth by the CDC, the State of Pennsylvania, and the funeral home regarding the Covid-19 pandemic.
