He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harold Dern and Doris Dern; his son James Sankey (Torie); his grandchildren, Jackson Sankey, Ryann Jurysta, Joey Kenny and Bryson Kenny; his brother Ronald Dern (Cathy); and his nephew Andrew Dern.
The military honors was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies (1158 Morgan Rd, Bridgeville, PA 15017).
