He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Stanley Betten and Stella Betten (Vaslik); his spouse Binnie Betten; his children, Sandy Sherman (Richard), Joseph Betten, Jr. (Courtney) and Scott Betten; his grandchildren, Alisha Lawhead, Ricky Sherman, Isabella, Ben Betten, Sophia and Jackson Marshall; his great grandchildren, Kynslee Senopole and Oaklee "Butterbean" Miles; and his brothers, Carl Betten (Debbie) and Daniel Betten (Pamela). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
