He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Patricia Hiles (McCorkle); his sons, Jon Hiles II (Jessica) and James Hiles; his grandsons, Jon III and Jack Hiles; and his brothers, Kevin Hiles, Michael and David Hiles.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Corpus Christi Knights of Columbus.
