He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard B. Matthews Sr. and Theresa Matthews; his sister Mary Marlene Caldwell (Harold); and his wife Elaine Matthews. He is survived by: his sister Gloria Collini (Bert); his nieces and nephews, Kim Dunn (Gordon), Beth Arzillo (Frank) and Sharon Gallagher (Michael); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Nicole Rafalko, Ashley Arzillo, Brendan and Collin Gallagher; and his close friend Maxine Berton.
