She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Toro-Scandone and Anna Toro-Scandone (Lalla) of Norristown; her husband John Valerio of Bridgeport; her siblings, Antoinette Petro and James Toro; her stepsiblings, Lucy Mizak, Jenny Hunsicker, Connie Messere, May Stelmach, Joseph Scandone, Ralph Scandone, John Scandone and Alexander Scandone; and her close friend Tony DiGiambattista.

She is survived by: her children, Janet Fitzgerald (Edwin), Louise Ensz (Dan), Marie Schneider (Hal), Carmen Valerio (Joanne) and John Valerio (Penny Gordon); her grandchildren, Joseph, William, Brian, Rebecca, Colleen, Gina and Lauren; her great grandchildren, Acony, Juniper, Reed, Theodore, Eliza and Penelope; and her half-brother Joseph Scandone (Cassie).
