He was predeceased by: his son Douglas; his granddaughter Brittany; and his parents, Stanley and Catherine. He is survived by: his wife Maxine Kmonk (Garvin); his children, Jeffrey (Diane) and Kathleen Harmon (Mark); his grandchildren, Nichole, Matthew, Shirlann, Jonathan and Kaitlyn; his great grandchildren, Brittany and Elise; and his siblings, Thomas (Anna Marie) and David (Debbie).
