He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Mays and Bernice Emerson-Mays (Spignard); and his wife Josephine "Sue" Mays (Creek). He is survived by: his son Lawrence A. Mays; his siblings, Cyril Emerson (Pam) and Amber Mays; and his nephews, Tod Emerson (Charlotte) of Bradford and David Emerson (Aimee) of Bradford.
