He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry H. Shaffer and Veronica Shaffer (Maruscak); his siblings, Robert, Richard Shaffer and Elsie Shaffer Platt; and his close friend Nancy Fridley.
He is survived by: his nephew Carl Platt (Twila) of Indiana; and his nieces, Darlene Wheeler (Quentin) of Greenwich, NJ and Melinda Woods of Bradenville. He is also survived by numerous great nieces, great nephews, and friends.
