He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle P. Sr. Klaes and Winifred Klaes (Mohney); and his brother David Klaes. He is survived by: his siblings, Darlene L. Klaes, Deborah B. Klaes and Merle P. Klaes, Jr.; his nephew Robert Klaes (Diane); his nieces, Jacqueline Young (Robert) and Rachel Klaes (Nick Rickard); his great-niece Elizabeth; and his great-nephews, Landon, Joseph and Mason.
