She was predeceased by: her parents, Carey and Big; her siblings, Ebenezer Smith (Jack) and Ida Smith McNeal; and also, Mildred Hood Bates, Dorothy Hood (Doll) and Robert Hood (Bobby).

She is survived by: her grandchildren, Martin Long and Lauren Long; her great grandchild Aarielle Long; her spouse James C. Scruggs; her children, Michael Holt, Marshall Holt and Melony Shook; her grandchildren, Martin Shook, Lauren Shook and Dominique Shook; and her great grandchildren, Arielle Long, Emmanuel Long and Yeshuah Long. She is also survived by relatives and friends.
