He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen Odchodnicky and Lillian Odchodnicky (Mares); and his siblings, Stephen Odchodnicky and Joan Odchodnicky. He is survived by: his wife Barbara L. Mares (Siddall); his children, James W. Mares of Lancaster and Katherine L. Halvorson (Erik) of Anacortes, WA; his grandsons, Landon and Anders Halvorson; and his brother Robert Mares of Chicago, IL..
