He was predeceased by: his parents, Elam Schaeffer and Leona Schaeffer (Ehst); and his daughter Stephanie Schaeffer. He is survived by: his son Christopher Schaeffer (Amy); his grandson Aaron Schaeffer; his brother Richard Schaeffer (Carolyn); and his niece Beverly Guy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's memory to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown, PA 19512.
