He is survived by: his daughter Cynthia A. (Michael P. Machukas); his grandchildren, James T. Wood II (Holly L.), Debra H. (Christopher Ellis), Linsey N. (Michael S. Reiseg) and Lauren E. (Wayne C. Moffett Jr.); and his half-brother Gerald Lute.
