He was predeceased by: his mother Alta Deist (Lohr); his brothers, James Deist, John "Willie" Deist and William Deist; and his nephew Adam Deist.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl A. Deist (Lohr); his daughters, Leah (Cory Stewart) and Jill (Cody Stahl); his grandchildren, Ben, Libby, Maci and Morgan; and his siblings, Dave Deist (Sally), Sandy Weaver (Terry), Paul Deist, Judy Pelesky and Dennis Deist (Claire). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
