He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd J., Sr. and Beatrice F. Bittner (Dollard); his wife Lois A. Bittner (Gombita); his son James L. Bittner; his grandson Ryan James Kinley; and his sister Dorothy Kendell.
He is survived by: his children, Brian, Marjorie Bittner (Keim), Stoystown, Barbara Bittner of New Smyrna, FL, Mark Bittner and Jennerstown; his grandchildren, Brandon, Ashley, Jeffrey, Benjamin and Michael; his great grandchildren, Margo and Ona; his siblings, Joanne Trayers, Nancy Baer and Michael Bittner (Barbara) of Boswell; and his siblings-in-law, Richard Gombita of California, Pat Gombita, Somerset Gombita and Judy Gombita. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
