He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Shank and Mae Shank (Adams). He is survived by: his wife Cindy Shank (Malloy); his children, Geoffrey Shank (Esther) and Brittney Shank (Kyle Lafler); his grandchildren, Alexia, Nikolas, Matthew, Isabella "Bella" Xander and Aidan; his father-in-law Jack Malloy (Bolivar); his brother-in-law Jack Malloy (Bolivar); and his daughter Hannah Huffman.
