He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson H. Shughart Sr and Ruth Shughart (Wert); and his siblings, Gabriel and Joyce Coffey. He is survived by: his wife Bette Jean Shughart (Bear); his children, Alan Shughart (Lisa) of Harleysville, PA, Larry Shughart of Jacksonville, FL and Lucy Schlenker (Marty) of Grapevine, TX; his siblings, Nelson H. Shughart Jr of Newville, Gladys Kammerer of Aspers, Gloria Rueger of Carlisle and Sylvania Negley of Carlisle; his grandchildren, Ruth, Mabel and Conrad Schlenker; and his aunt Geraldine Gladhill of Carlisle He.
