He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas and Rosa B. Shade, Jr.; his son Aaron Marice Shade; his siblings, Gwendolyn Joyce Shade, Harry Jerome Shade and Henry Lawrence Shade; and his sister-in-law Roberta Shade.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Chambers; his sons, Michael Edward Chambers of New York and Charles Edward Shade, Jr. of Boalsburg; his siblings, Tom Shade III (Phyllis) of Hartford City, IN, Jessie Lovelle Shade (Sally) of Huntingdon, Brenda Joyce Shade of State College and Tennie Delois Shade; and his grandchildren, Davon, Donavon, Hayley and Sierra Shade.
