“The loss of Sal Castro a good friend and a good man will be mourned for some time. Sal was a kind, gentle an a very intuitive man. I will miss him very much, I will also miss his stories and his ingenuity. He made friends with everyone, no one was left out. We used talk about our similar back surgeries we had at the university of Pennsylvania hospital, his after falling down on the escalator and mine after a fall from a hammock. I will miss Sal very much Ken Myerson”

“As the youngest member at the time of the Washington Crossing Honor Guard I had the honor and privilege of "ringing the bell" with Sal on Veterans Day 2019. At the time Sal was the oldest member. Sal was a humble gentleman. He will always be remembered by those who served with him. Until Vallhalla Sal.”
