He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Agnes Payton, and Martin Joseph Payton, Sr.; his brother Donald Payton; his adoptive sons, Matthew and Mark Payton; his wife Catherine of Southern Pines; his siblings, Joan Plaziak of North Providence and David Payton of Cranston, RI.; his grandchildren, Rocky, Lindsey, Danny, Colleen, Meghan, Marty IV, Lauren and Chase; his great grandchildren, Rally, Charlotte, Kelly, Holly, Carey, Kate, Brenden and Mariano; and his cousin Paul Payton.
