He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory Carpenter and Evelyn Carpenter; his daughter Tanya Sue Carpenter; his sister Jean Carpenter Baas; his half-sister Barbara June Strichik; and his brothers, Winston Warren Carpenter and Ronald Emory Carpenter.
He is survived by: his daughter Miranda Carpenter Kurzejewski (Jeff); his grandchildren, Cade and Reagan; and his siblings, Patricia Carpenter Hall (Roger), Jackie Carpenter Greene (Mike), Mike Carpenter and Muffy Carpenter Metts (late Howard).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in honor of his late brother-in-law Howard Metts to the ALS Association Alabama Chapter at 300 Cahaba Park Circle, Ste 209, Birmingham, AL 35242 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or also to Ironheads Motorcycle Club of Tioga County Pa.
