He was predeceased by: his parents, William W. "Bill" Swigart and Hazel D. Swigart (Cole); his wife Jayne M. Swigart (Yocum); and his siblings, Rodney W. Swigart, Sr., Steven J. Swigart and Dotty A. Wilson.
He is survived by: his daughter Mellisa A. Short of Liberty, Indiana; and his sisters, Deborah L. Schumacher of Benton, Bernadine K. Houseweart of Orangeville and Roxie J. Santos of Orangeville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
